Good morning,

I am writing on behalf of Social Security Scotland as we seek to make sure all our benefits and payments reach the parents and carers who need them most.

There’s a big deadline coming up on February 28 for our clients.

School Age Payment applications close for children who were born between 1 March 2016 and 28 February 2017.

The payment is £252.50 per child to help families with the costs associated with a child starting at Primary School.

People who get tax credits or certain benefits are encouraged to apply.

Parents or carers who have deferred their child’s entry to school from August 2021 to August 2022, or those home schooling, must still apply before the 28 February closing date or they will lose out on their payment

We know the payment can make a real difference and any help you can give us to inform parents, guardians and families would be greatly appreciated.
