Mock Election
Primary 7 hit the campaign trail last week culminating in Mock Elections being held in the school. The pupils were randomly split into six groups and had to research their designated party!
After working on their policies they hit the campaign trail and invited classes to visit stalls they were working on. As part of a cooperative group each pupil had a designated role to play in trying to make their party come out on top.
The leader of each party finished off by making a pitch to all the voters before they were issued with the ballot papers. It was a close run event but Ross Stephen, SNP, was elected to Westminster to represent the newly founded Hazlehead constituency!
The challenge was a great success and there was great energy throughout! It made the learning real and relevant and coincidied with the UK General Election 2015.
