World Book Week Activities
We started off our Word Book Week activities with a visit from Callie’s mum Sandra who came to our class and shared her favourite story with us – Mog the Forgetful Cat. She also spoke to us about the importance of reading, and shared some other books which had a special meaning to her. We had a great time listening to the story and chatting about the books – thank you!
On Wednesday we chose to read some of Paddington. We then worked in small groups to retell the story by performing a short drama. See some of the groups in action below! We also discussed how we thought Paddington would be feeling when he was left on his own in a strange country, and on Thursday we created some fantastic play scripts linked to the story.
On Thursday we had some amazing potato characters brought in from the World Book Day homework challenge. We shared our reason for creating the character we chose with the class before displaying them in the rotunda for everyone to see.
